These images and video clips provide a selection of documented participation since the project launched in March 2023. Coombe Hill or High Water consists of twelve interconnected scenes that place the participants’ overlapping webcam images within a dystopian tragicomedy narrative. Each scene lasts for approximately four minutes and the improvising protagonists can choose to perform and interact in any way they wish. Coombe Hill or High Water is an online telematic installation that necessitates a proprioceptive engagement by moving back from the keyboard to perform, play, and embody the ‘self’ as ‘other’ in a coexistent telepresent encounter.
